Taqueria Pico de Gallo - Isla Mujeres

Pico was a great option for late night meals. The cooks and the server were kindly little old ladies who nonchalantly make the best garlic crema on the island. Get the gringos, tacos arabe norteño, and the pozole special of the day. Then sit and watch life unfold in the city square. You might get a game of basketball or children playing but whatever is happening it will go great with horchata and delicious food.

We have never had someone be so rude to us in all of our existence. We went in and were ignored, ordered food that didn’t come, asked if they had coffee and the waitress said yes but walked off and didn’t offer us any. A friend asked for a coke, was told there was none, and then we saw one served to the locals next to us. We then said not to worry about the food and coffee after a ridiculously long wait time and the waitress simply said ‘ok’ and walked off. Slightly baffled to be honest. The fiery depths of hell would have been more enjoyable than this dining experience.

If you dont know vegetarian food, dont put it on the menu. The food didnt taste anything and the service was poor. We had to ask for the bill two times, even though the restaurant was pretty much emty. The prices also suddenly changed and the bill was higher than what the menu said.

Was going to get a bite at one of my must stop places Q Bravo. Q Bravo was as out of cooking gas and thus cerrado. Found this little place across the street. Great tacos — pollo arrechera. Wife had a fabulous bowl of soup and out ordered us.

I ordered the carne asada tacos and the meat was very dry. Probably because they are reheating the meat. The main reason for my 1 star review is the woman who works or owns the business tried to cheat me out of extra money. My food balance was about $6 in US dollars and i gave her a $20 US bill. when she came back with my change she was only giving me back a 20 bill in pesos, which is only worth $1 in US. She was trying to cheat me out of $13. She never apologized, she only gave me attitude even tho she was at fault. I would avoid this place to teach them a lesson not to take advantage of non locals.
