Bidrage med feedbackThey had a “dessert oyster” there not on the menu and it was amazing. Never thought I’d eat an oyster for dessert. Lovely venue and good wine. Great for a weekend afternoon retreat.
I love this new space. The only reason I’m not giving this five stars is the fact they are using all plastic throw away cups and plates. You’d think where they are located they’d use really glasses, I understood at their other location why they used plastic. The wine is really good. We also tried their “dessert” oyster. Sooo good.
First, though, I will say the staff were very friendly and helpful. That said, our experience was only okay: I did not care for the wine, with or without the oysters, and the roasted oysters (which we had, obviously) were not the amazing like the waitress said they'd be. There was also the smell of fertilizer wherever you sat under the tent. It just was a different experience than I realized it would be, probably because it's a micro-vineyard housed alongside a restaurant and inn experience. We do still want to try the restaurant, which we were unable to do this trip, but in terms of the wine-tasting experience, it was underwhelming, in terms of taste, scene, and available variety. The only plus was that the wine flight was inexpensive. So, silver-lining.
The oysters were wonderful! And paired very nicely with their wine, the Oyster White! The server was incredibly attentive and lovely, and the owner came over to meet us. Great service overall! I was less impressed by their selection of wines to try via the tasting, I liked 1 of the 4, which is not typical for me. That being said, my husband liked 3 of 4, so perhaps they were just not my taste.
This is a very cute and charming place to have a glass of wine and oysters. It was a great way to spend a rainy afternoon at the river.
