Spiro's Downtown - Iron Mountain

I recently had the bistro steak with sparing and it was so delicious. the part was perfect, not too big, just right, and it is always so beautiful and relaxing to sit outside and eat.

This is a great place for more of a European Cafe style lunch and drinks. Good food, good selection, outdoor shaded patio and friendly accommodating staff.

Was hoping for bougie but it wasn't. Atmosphere was bougie, coffee was bougie. Food was subpar. I was really hoping it would be fantastic but wasn't. Burger was cooked perfectly but taste wasn't anything spectacular. I would give it another chance but if other options aren't bougie enough, it would be sad. EDIT: added a star for their peanut butter mousse pie

The outdoor seating is very nice. The printed and online menu need to be updated to remove items no longer available. The stuffed mushrooms were supposed to have pickled jalapenos, but they were VERY hot and detracted from the other flavors. The service was good and the rest of the meal was delicious. The waitresses' tight, form fitting yoga pants were too casual.

I was very much looking forward to coming in to this restaurant based on the reviews and sadly I was super disappointed by the service. The food I did have was really good. The mussels were amazing and the pulled pork was different in a unique way but I enjoyed it. The service was so un-delightful that I cut my visit short and asked the server to have the food made to-go so that I could leave. I wanted to try one of the desserts because the options all looked amazing, but I was so ready to go that I did not. I believe my server 's name was Seth. I wouldn 't know because he never introduced himself nor did he greet me. The host mentioned his name when she sat me. His greeting was setting down a glass of water and immediately asking me if he could get me anything else to drink. Very dry. No personality. Very un-welcoming. When he brought my appetizer, the mussels, he placed them on the table with no words. I 'm used to a server saying something along the lines Alright I got your mussels. How are they looking? Can I get you anything else? Alright, enjoy. I got nothing. I actually would 've maybe liked some hotsauce and definitely a side plate or bowl for my shells since the mussels are served in so much broth. During the whole time it took me to eat the mussels which was slow because I was going to ask him for the things mentioned above but he never came to check on me. I tried to get his attention a few times and he never looked twice in my direction. Also, it was not even close to busy at this point. When I first walked in, sure I 'll give some grace there. This was also already after once I was seated, both servers walked past me about 4 times each and never said a word so I wasn 't even sure which one was Seth initially. But again, it was busy as in customers wanting to check out so I didn 't think too much of it. All that already happening, I was still gracious enough to think maybe this is just his personality or maybe he 's young and this is a first job until I saw him interact with two other customers who came in after me who also came in like I did, solo. They were both greeted and one they had a full on conversation. That was my last straw and that 's when I decided to leave. I asked to have the rest of my order packed to-go. So maybe because I 'm not a local I didn 't get great service which has been said in at least a couple other reviews, but it was bad. I did not feel welcomed and I did not feel valued. Again, I had high expectations based on the majority of your reviews and I hate that my experience did not live up to the hype. Not even close.
