Bidrage med feedbackMy dad, being from Indy, RAVES every time I'm in Indy to go to Shapiros. However, their mall location just is not great. My biggest issue with my sandwich was uneven mustard piles and then the sandwich itself had ZERO structural integrity. I'd have been better off eating it like a salad from a bowl as it fell apart pretty much right away (and yes I ate it pretty much right away after it was assembled in front of me).
Long wait, out of some options, lukewarm meat, and pricey. All of this at 10 AM was a bit much for me.
Horribly run. Always run out of food. The employees are disinterested in making quality food or providing good service. I’m a huge fan of the original deli and used to eat at the airport location regularly. I’ll never go to the airport location again.
Airports seldom have highlights because, well because they are airports. Is this place overpriced because it is in an airport of course it is. But, for years and years now, whenever my wife and I fly out of Indianapolis, we grab a couple of sandwiches from Shapiro's to either eat on the plane or even to take home after our flight. Our go to meals are pastrami on rye for me and corned beef on rye for her, plus two orders of potato salad. Bread is always fresh. Sandwich sizes are always large. Meat is always flavorful and moist. And the potato salad is the best ever anywhere anytime. When we then open our sack on the plane, jealous eyes immediately fall upon us. Shapiro's almost makes being at an airport palatable.
I was looking for just a cup of coffee. The staff seemed bothered when you ordered, She said come down here I was like where?? Then the airpot was empty. When I mentioned it to her she rolled her eyes. As I was fixing my coffee, I heard as others came up to the counter, kinda rude comments. You want something? I was like what?. I am from Indianapolis so I was shocked by their customer service. Shapiro 's is a long standing business of Indianapolis. The downtown location is nothing like this!
