Little Italy is the Indian equivalent of Olive Garden. It is a chain that serves Italian cuisine. Good selection of dishes and a consistent and pleasant experience.
Little Italy is a perfect place to experience a different kitchen than the Indians. It offers very well cooked Italian dishes with a very fine taste and serves wines that are very rare in a vegetarian restaurant in India. Compared to the whole menu, vegan options are not as numerous, but you can easily find some of them that are really amazing, such as marinated mushrooms. Do not hesitate to ask the server to not use milk products for cooking or to assure you, there is only oil in the dishes you want to take. The dinner we spent was great, but you will probably appreciate more their lunch ad libitum buffet, which is very interesting in terms of prices. Like the previous review, we also have criticism of the restaurant. We also find that prices are very high compared to the usual Indian prices, even if the food is of good quality. The restaurant is really illuminated, which is not really practical to eat and read the menu.
Little Italy is a chain of vegetarian Italian restaurants distributed throughout India today. It started with a single restaurant in Pune years ago and it was a refreshing model in India. But now has success to their heads and like many other chain restaurants, money making is the only model. In the name of the candlelight experience, there is hardly any lighting in the restaurant, so it is impossible to read the menu, see the food and check the bill. When I pointed out, I was told that they had problems with their lighting! How many upscale restaurants would keep it open and run if they have a problem with lighting! Only in India. We had ordered wine together with soup, pizza and salad. The food arrived and there was no sign of wine. When I pointed out, they realized that wine is a drink and not a dessert! Salad is served in a deep bowl that makes it very difficult to eat with a fork and cnive. The reason is that in India all Indians eat all the kitchen in a family style, i.e. You all dishes around the table, even if the menu item is an individual plated item, a concept that is completely foreign in India. Where else in the world you can order soup one of two, i.e. one order served 2 people! Of course, well before the bill came, there was already a sticker shock in the menu. I have eaten regularly in Little Italy in Pune, and the prices here were completely out of sync with the reality of eating in India in various categories of restaurants. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was a family of 12 with 6 children running a racket and children and jumping around as if it were a playground. When I complained to one of the servers in a tie, he nodded (whatever that means in India) and of course did nothing about it. In the end, I had to go to the table and give them a piece of my mind. With this kind of prices and this type of service they definitely have no tip from me.
