Lǎo Shí Guāng Shāo Ròu Jiǔ Yáo

Old school izakaya with tatami seats. Very popular, even if it's Monday night after 10:00. It is not difficult to see why the high rating and popularity. All the dishes we ordered for drinking are well done. Salted pork (has a bit of skin with a beautiful chewing,) tomatoes (light and refreshing), roasted chicken cartilage (natural) and grilled squid (this is grilled for perfection, only enough Char on outside to intensify the taste, while inside is moist and sweet, as if just a quick cooking.)

Expected a greasy smell when I went to this young BBQ restaurant. Luckily not! Plumomates are juicy and appetizing. Save only a few for the end of the meal, it will definitely be a good end for you Japanese yam is crispy and refreshing as well. Peeled pepper chicken soup is highly recommended. “Hui lan” pork is grilled for perfection. Other BBQ spits also taste above average. However, pork kewer with metaiko sauce is not to my taste. Chicken cartilage is common, does not have the grill taste. Nevertheless, they definitely deserve a 5-star ranking. Friendly staff, fast service and reasonable price for quality grilled food. Plan reservations, will be a wiser move if you plan to visit here.

TLDR: The best Japanese barbecue area in Hualien. Grilled chicken wings, ribeye steak and pork are delicious, especially the price makes sense. Sizzling Filet is excellent and do not forget to combine it with chilled designs of beers. A child-friendly restaurant. Personal service is excellent and appealing. Very recommended.

A nice place to chill out with friends in the evening with great atmosphere, food and service. The kebabs and soup come perfect with either warm sake or cold beer. Fried chicken is a bit dry but the deep fried taro balls are amazing. Making a reservation is recommended or you may need to wait for a long time.
