La Mer - Hua Hin

Food was delicious, large portions, good price for quality, beautiful view and good service

This place has a beautiful scenic sea view, the beautiful thing about Hua Hin is the long coast, so it is really a pleasant one. Eating it is quite delicious, above average I have to say, but if you're in the restaurant with 5 children, unfortunately I couldn't focus on the food. The crab cakes were good. They have decent service as a whole hardly speak English, but they can manage it. Hygiene is on average, some flies fly around, but it's okay if you're used to it. (especially for one from Southeast Asia). Toilet is decently clean, but has a small dirty smell (it has a very strong fan in it although it is a plus point). Overall, I would say that we enjoyed the view and the environment most for a late afternoon lunch, as there were fewer males. Children could explore a bit without disturbing others. A nice short break with a cool beer, but without much sun (it was a little cloudy).

Four stars for the manificent view beautiful weather, the food is on average among the Thai-style restaurants.

Basic seafront restaurant with a great city view of Huahin beach and city. Premium prices for the view and location. Outdoor dining. The owner and kid employees sat a bit too close, probably to protect our food against the monkeys in the area who like coconuts. Unlike the previous comments, most popular restaurants in Thailand use plastic dishes. It's not an issue. But if you want crystal and plates. You should probably go to a franchise hotel.

We have eaten here several times with varied experiences. The location and ambiance is outstanding! The service is always good. The food ranges from wonderful to disappointing. They have told me before that it is because of changing chefs. The prices are a little more expensive than some other places but they have the best views. It is probably worth a try just for the sake of the views.
