Bidrage med feedbackDespite getting a confirmed reservation, the restaurant was closed to the public when we arrived on October 1. This was extremely disappointing and poor service from Open Table and the restaurant (Corner Table)
Sooooooooooooo disappointed. I should have read the recent Yelp reviews BEFORE we went. Where to begin We were the only table in the restaurant. A Thursday. 7:00. What???? Right away we thought there must be something up. Why is no one here? We quickly found out. The main light in the dining room was out. We were seated right under this light. I asked the waiter if there was something wrong with the light. He said They are working on it. I asked Right now? He said No. Earlier in the week. What he should have said was I 'm so sorry. I 'd be happy to move you to a brighter area of the restaurant. Where we were seated was so depressing. What else was depressing and GROSS was the sewer smell that we kept smelling. We couldn 't tell where it was coming from. The waiter seemed new, untrained and did not have any knowledge of wine. He seemed very awkward. We guessed that he had to be the owner 's nephew or someone like that. Despite us being the only table in the place, our food took FOREVER to be served. While we were waiting for our food, it seemed like there was some sort of photographer there and someone in the kitchen had to keep flaring up a pan for the shot. I guess it was more important than getting our meal to us. Everyone 's food was okay to a little weird. The garlic mashed potatoes tasted like they had citrus in them. The lobster, crab, shrimp bisque was greasy ish and too rich for my taste. The Thai ribs were over done. We all agreed that we were sorry we picked this restaurant and agreed that it probably won 't be long until it closes it 's doors.
I had a confirmed reservation for lunch. I drove in from Galveston to have lunch with a friend. The restaurant was closed. POOR attention to the calendar on their part.
This was my first visit to Corner Table. I was very impressed with the ambiance and quality of food. Food is art and Corner Table did not disappoint on delivering a delicious, creatively plated entree and dessert. The craft cocktails were varied. I enjoyed the Sophia. The staff is friendly and very attentive. I love the semi circular booths. The decor was beautiful artwork was interesting and added a nice touch to the atmosphere. I will definitely return to Corner Table with friends and family.
I went with two of my friends for lunch. We tried the Houston Restaurant Week menu. The food was excellent and the waitress very nice. I was distracted at the beginning by a few mosquitos attacking my legs and arms, but eventually they stopped. I was happy with the food and service I received.
