Mfa Cafe - Houston

The old Cafe is CLOSED. The only food available is in a separate building.

I often have good experiences at museum cafes and this was no exception. Still somewhat full from my breakfast at Empire Cafe, I wasn't that hungry but needed a break from the enormous new contemporary art wing. A margherita focaccia seemed like the perfect option and it was. It arrived with a spot of creamy cheese and colorful roasted tomatoes. Soft and warm, it was perfectly paired with a San Pellegrino Limonata soft drink. It's the kind of thing I'd eat on most days if it was available to me.

We always loved the food here but its all closed now. We always enjoyed a bottle of wine and a nice meal brought out to our table after viewing an art exhibit. Hope it reopens some day.

Exceptional Menu with something for everyone. Healthy and vegetarian options, as well as some wonderful Sweets.

We had a lunch here today and came back again in the afternoon for a wine drink, because we enjoyed our lunch. The cafe provided a delicious carrot soup with 2 pieces of warm bread for the lunch. A bowl of soup had a big quantity and tasted very good. My husband liked his sandwich too.The afternoon antipasti was a big platter, too.
