Bidrage med feedbackI thoroughly enjoyed my crab puffs during happy hour. Chill vibe, they serve beer and wine and sake, lots of options with an easy to understand menu.
My order had no utensils even though I requested. Also, we ordered sushi but they provided no wasabi, soy sauce, ginger, all the normal things you get with it at every other place. I also ordered and was charged for two sides of ponzu and only received one. The food was unremarkable for the price. I will not order from this place again.
TLDR: AVOID POPULAR NIGIRI FOR DELIVERY. (I.e. salmon, tuna, yellowtail) I got a bunch of nigiri and the Houston roll. Most of the nigiri was really delicious and fresh, with the exception of the good old fashioned pieces, my Salmon Yellow tail were quite rank, especially on the ends so I think they pre-make them and leave them refrigerated but I couldn't eat the second pieces. BUT the smoked and toro salmon, Escolar, red snapper, and Houston roll were excellent. Perhaps it's because the poor driver was stuck in traffic those other pieces went a little bad, but otherwise very good.
Dined in before catching a movie on a Saturday night. Seated pretty quickly at the bar. Efficient and friendly service — food came out fast despite the place being full. It is a small restaurant, but has a parking lot out front — great considering this is in Midtown, where parking is usually a hassle.Ordered the spicy hamachi, nemo roll, and houston roll along with some nigiri pieces. Would order the hamachi and escolar nigiri again, along with the Houston and nemo roll. Spicy hamachi had a good kick because of ponzu flavoring, but probably would not order again (had tempura, was understandably a little warm, but prefer my sushi cold). Wasabi had no kick or flavor. The best part is the restaurant is open until midnight on Fri Sat and 10pm every other day — a rarity as most places close by 8 or 9 on the weekends. Spent about $25 30 per person, but could drive that down; relatively inexpensive compared to other local sushi spots.
DISHES: 2x Uni Sushi, Six piece, Sizzling Teriyaki, Ramen (please see images) COST: $114 PROS: Like the vibe and atmosphere Vietnamese owned you know what it is CONS: Nothing I can think of yet. IMPRESSION: Nice spot Downtown Houston to grab some sushi with some family.
