Caribbean Hotpot Grill - Houston

One of my coworkers had brought some Curry Chicken about 2 years ago, so I decided to give it a try. I got the Curry chicken LG and it came with cabbage and rice. The chicken was super soft and succulent. The rice was great and reminded me of El Salvador rice with beans. The spice level was on point, not too spicy but spicy enough. I will order again, yall come try it out for yourself.

The jersey chicken was good. Had some heat but not too much. A great balance or flavor and heat. Exactly how jerk chicken should tasted. I'd say this is a good place to stop and get some good authentic Jamaican food if your on the Northside. We tried ox tails, curry shrimp, jerk wings, the chicken and beef pattied and curry chicken, and all were really good. I have no complaints on any of it. The portions were great and tasted like they should. Definitely will be back for more. Didn't give it a 5 star since ordering was somewhat disorganized and the patties were left forgotten and had to request them. We will definitely return again for more.

I’m still trying to cool my mouth off from the Jerk chicken. That had to be the my flavorful pain I’ve gone through.

First time ordering and was impressed by the portion size. The Jerk chicken however was extremely spicy, almost inedible to me! I’m someone that likes spicy food. I don’t know if they put an extra spicy sause but it was literally all I was tasting. The rice and peas were cooked well, but had that same sause on it which completely ruined it in my opinion. In my online order I asked for gravy on the rice and I think they put the spicy sauce as “gravy” which is a huge disappointment. The plantin (got 1 piece) was good, nice ripe and sweet as how it should be. Cabbage was ok, not my thing could have passed on it. Overall 3 out of 5. If the spice level wasn’t so high could easily be a solid 4. I will give it another try, maybe with a different meat and see if it’s any better next time around.
