Bidrage med feedbackChaotic check in process— with 15 minute wait for parking and 15 minute line for check in— was a bad first impression. They also lost our luggage for a while. It is expensive, and service should be on par. I understand construction— this is a historical facility that needs to be maintained. But bad service? No. I emailed the GM and he sent a polite réponse back. Food was ok, spa was ok, but this place needs to step it up.
I loves this place. My sister in law and I spa treatments and had access to the pool area for the afternoon. We experienced the authentic hot spring, the reflexology trail, the hot tub, pool and ever poolside bar service! We ran out of time and never got to the shower, complete with thunder and lightning.
The building needs a lot of work . It’s a very old building with a lot of problems. Elevator went out. Water went out. Construction workers all over . They charge a hefty resort fee and then want to charge again for the adult pool. The golf cart was defective. The valets were rude. I don’t recommend
Immediately, from an awesome arrival view with welcoming valets, Patrick at front desk and the bags getting to a super room (very comfortable and clean with plenty of space, small fridge, safe and a great view) made us feel welcome after many years since our last stay. They have added so much which continued to impress us during the activities we enjoyed: Archery, 22 rifle range, Zip line and Falconry and hiking. Martha's Market, off the Great Hall, is perfect for a quick breakfast and a real coffee. The lazy river and swimming pool area are enough in itself to bring us back with grandkids. The service was tops with every interaction, especially in the Jefferson Restaurant/Taproom. We had lunch and dinner 2x there and enjoyed the wonderful meals. Celebrating an anniversary got us champagne and cheesecake each night with no fanfare, just devoted servers (Chip, Chris and Alexandra). The breakfast buffet in the newly renovated Main Dining Room, was too much to fully take part in but Fred, who is most interesting, cooked up a monstrous Western Omelet, not sure if it was a Clint Eastwood or a John Wayne. Anthony Pushy was our escort on exit from the East end of the hotel via the Grand Hallway to our waiting car and gave us a brief history that he learned over 26 years which was cultivated by 4 generations of his family. Most employees we spoke with have worked many years at The Homestead. We both agreed this was on the top of our list for being the best anniversary location we could have selected and we have had many. We plan on returning in a month and possibly this winter. We would highly recommend it for newly weds, older couples, and young families- we talked with parents with kids who were enjoying their stay. Our room was very quiet on the East end towards the Spa and adult pool area.
Back in Time. This first class resort has everything you need to unplug from your busy lifestyle. The service is outstanding and the amenities are plentiful. The Resort is going through a 300Million dollar restoration. So be aware that some things might not be available. I could not stop saying It is so pretty everywhere you go at the resort. The attention to detail and service is amazing. We will hopefully visit again.
