Bidrage med feedbackCafe Rumas was recommended by our apartment host. We left horta driving through Almorarife and stopped at the beach Beautiful! A beautiful ride around the island. In the village of Praia do Norte, Near the church, is Cafe Rumas. We walked into the cafe to a spectacular view of the Alantic ocean. All the tables are on a broad sweep of windows looking out. We were hiking the Faja trail and wanted lunch after. Lunch was great. The next day we were going to Capelinhos to watch the sunset, so we made reservations to come back for dinner. Reservations are recommended on Fri+Sat if you plan on dinner. We made dinner reservations and we are glad we did. Staff is friendly and fluent in English. There is fresh fish of the day. A gentleman brought a book to out table, Guia do Consumidaro do Pescado dos Acores consumers guide to Azorean seafood). He showed us the fish of the day and what the fish was in the book. Explained how it was prepared. We asked for a recommendation for wine, he suggested Frei Giganti. It has become our go to wine here. The owners wife makes a sausage that is amazing! you need to ask for this sausage) My husbsnds fish was prepared to perfection. As it is a very busy restaurante the wait, at times could be a little long. After Sat and Sun church services the wait is long without reservations. So sit back enjoy the view and Rumas famous Massa Sovada bread Ask for honey), olives and local soft cheese. You can take home fresh bread and cheese!
If as we were you 're planning on hiring a car for a day tour of Faial and are wondering where to have lunch, look no further. This is the place ! We had hoped to find a restaurant our car hire company had recommended but it turned out to be closed so we continued along the road hoping to find somewhere else for a light lunch. As we were driving along, we noticed at least a dozen local workmen standing outside a very modest looking restaurant so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. As you enter, you are immediately struck by the spectacular view you get of the Atlantic, hundreds of feet below you. The situation is really impressive. All the tables along the broad sweep of the panoramic windows have exceptional views. We each had octopus salad. Others on nearby tables were eating fish. The food was delicious and really well presented. We also had dessert, beer and some wine. The bread was made in house and included an interesting local sweet bread, which tasted more like cake. The service was efficient and very friendly without being too obtrusive or 'in your face '. Altogether, we came away from this place thinking we had struck gold. It was really memorable. I can 't recommend it highly enough !
Very good! the staff is really kind and they also prepare vegan and vegetarian dishes, if you ask for them.
Isto foi outro campeonato. O truque é chamar o Leonel. O Jonny gosta daquilo e trata bem as pessoas. A comida top.
E sobrevivi!
