Pousada de Horta - Forte de Santa Cruz

The waiting staff was really nice, excellent service, but the food was, I don't know how to describe it disgustingly. I ordered Tje Olives Apetiser who came with a dish of some kind of meat, maybe chicken. But the worst was tje tender...pork loin. It was over boiled, like the 'saut potatoes' and all swimming in fat. I couldn't eat it and fortunately they didn't charge. A great experience. I wouldn't guess.

This is a beautiful hotel with stunning views over the marina of Horta with very friendly and friendly staff. We loved the time spent there and thanks to the staff our honeymoon stay was still something special. Thank you for everything!

We fought to find somewhere to eat on Sunday night and settled in this restaurant and were very glad that we did. We couldn't get a table until late (9:30) and had only one main course. The Tomahawk-Steak catches our eye and so we ordered one to share. It was fabulous, tasty and juicy, delicious in your mouth. Probably expensive and worth a visit.

Coming from North America, I would never have thought that I would sleep in a fort built centuries ago. They built the hotel on the fort courtyard. Pool side is a very quiet place to relax after a day of sightseeing in Faial. The... hotel is within walking distance to restaurants and the rustic shops that are home to all the streets of the city centre. Good customer service from the staff. would definitely stay here again

Fancied a “posh” dinner and the building looked interesting. Sadly there was little atmosphere in the restaurant. Food was well cooked although they initially served me bruschetta (who has that for evening main? when I’d ordered fish but the kitchen quickly cooked the right meal....Service was just ok, all a bit average and disappointing considering where it was and the prices
