Bidrage med feedbackMy family decided one Sunday to go out for an impromptu meal at our local pub. We decided to go to the Foresters Arms and try the Oriental Kitchen and I am so pleased that we did. The meal was delicious, all the food was freshly cooked and really flavoursome. We went for the Sunday all you can eat option so had starters, crispy duck and main courses including noodles and rice. All the dishes were devine and the kids thoroughly enjoyed their meals Clean plates all round. We certainly will be going back.
A top quality establishment, a hidden gem on the outskirts of Horsham. A really friendly welcome always awaits from Colin, Pam and the team every time. A good pub always relies on a well kept cellar, the beer is always of a high standard. Been using the place for years, always accommadating especially when we held my grandmother's 99th birthday lunch a while ago, the staff went the extra mile to ensure appropriate access and that we had a great time and were able to mark the occasion in such a special way. The best public house in Horsham!!
Just had an uncomfortable experience today. I went to the Foresters Arms in Horsham. Saw my friends outside, greeted them and went in. Started the sign in procedure and asked for a beer. The Landlord was quite aggressive. Sanitize your hands first was his reply. I was quite taken aback as this was my next step. I said to him, You realise in these days of Covid-19 guidelines we are quite aware of how we do things and I am following the guidance? His hostile response was that people don 't follow guidelines. Go and sit down and you will be served. I was quite shocked at his attitude. I went outside and talked to my friends. Ralph had a major stroke leaving him wheelchair bound. They had asked the Landlord for access to the garden. He basically refused even though you could see a direct path there without disturbing health and safety reasons. So they were stuck outside the front of the pub on the path, impinging on everyone 's access. Ralph 's partner told him that he was discriminating the disabled and wasn 't happy to no avail. It seems I got the backend of his displeasure at being challenged about disabled access. What he didn 't realise is that I am disabled as well. His treatment of my friends was inexcusable. The Landlord has rightly stopped the back entrance as an entrance. I asked on a previous occasion to use the back entrance to lessen my journey home and told it not possible? We are not talking about a difficult decision. Simply to help me to see my friends and make it accessible to everyone. And not feel belittled and embarrassed for our disability. I am upset and humiliated by this experience
A little while ago a band that I follow announced a last minute gig at the Foresters Arms. A pub I had never heard of before! I checked to see if they did food ...luckily they did! My partner and I chose the roast beef (well it was Sunday! . I can honestly say it was one of the best pub roast dinners I can remember eating. The beef was so tender you could cut it with a fork. All the vegetables were perfectly cooked too. We even got a gravy boat on the table if we wanted more. We asked the chef his secret....he cooks the beef overnight 'sous vide ' apparently which makes it melt in the mouth tender.I can thoroughly recommend this pub for Sunday lunch.... a truly memorable one for us!
After visiting the pub recently for a drink and finding it really friendly we decided to make a reservation for dinner. I cannot believe I have not eaten here before. The staff are amazingly friendly and welcoming. The chef spoke to us about the menu and suggested the lighter options which I opted for. Myself and my companions all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We couldn 't fault the meals or the service. I believe this to be a good old fashioned pub that has ' chef ' not just a cook as so may appear to have. Will definitely be returning and taking friends.
