O Shòu Sī Diàn - Hoover

Let's face it they aren't very many great japanese/sushi restaurants in Birmingham. Osushi is probably the best in Hoover, maybe even Birmingham. The fish is always fresh the sushi is put together and presented properly and the customer service is always great. This is my go-to place for sushi.

I am a new customer and I was looking for a good sashimi and found O Sushi had 5 stars do I decided to give it a try I ordered a Sashimi player with Chef Choice of fish. I was disappointed when I saw the sashimi cut as a nigiri cut, there where 18 pc of Nigiri with out rice! They need to understand there are differences on the sashimi cut VS Nigiri cut and fish wasn't that fresh either. Me coming back? Nope

Horrible customer service. I placed an order online at 12:05 and arrived at the restaurant at 12:30 after being told it would be ready between 12:20-12:30. I'm still waiting at 1:05 even though they've taken several walk in orders who got their food right away. No apology no explanation. I do not recommend this restaurant and will not be back.

Perhaps a bit of a hidden gem, they consistently deliver excellent quality of food and service. I have eaten here many times over the years, and have never once been disappointed. It is obvious that the chefs take pride in quality and lovely presentation. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the interior is clean and modern with a very relaxing atmosphere. They even play cool music. Love it.

I would have given this place a 5 star for the food, but the service by a young female was questionable. I notice that she gave excellent service to a certain group of customers (not white or black). I was with a party of 3 and I also noticed another table not of my ethic background receiving poor and extremely slow customer service. However, there was 2 other tables of a similar ethic hertiage. My glass was empty and I was sitting just waiting. However, the young lady went by our table maybe 10 plus times to service the other table with customers that looked closed to her hertiage. The other table I noticed received no service either, but the 2 table of likeness were given continuous service and their glasses where kept full. She keep going back saying is there anything else . I couldn 't even receive can I refill you glasses . Who knows...maybe the other customers had money and the waitresses wanted a good tip. But for me, I love the food but the service is little to no service. Maybe its in my mind...who knows. But I know what I saw and experienced.
