Roy's - Honolulu

The review would be 5 stars the app allowed it (can give only 5 stars vegan / vegetarian restaurants). that was really one of the best meals of my life. the staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. they have a vegan menu 3 curs tasting menu, plus additional options from the regular menu that can be made vegan. I would highly recommend making the 3-course tasting menu. for the quality of food I would say that the price is reasonable. bonus that edamame they bring on the table are vegan. so beautiful to enjoy the full experience.

Okay. they are like “wtf why it’s so hard to find good vegan foods close.” I'm like why isn't it easier? most Tiki bars offer only a pasta. No. Mother crazy roys! we came for an admittedly special occasion (6th year!) but I literally had the best meal of my life. it was so good. I have no prix fixe options. $50 later and I had an amazing app (some zucchini thing and literally the best meal of my life. we are still waiting for the dessert, but I am so thrilled that I want to write the review now! seriously, it is not fair every day, but if they have something special, come here! they also have a few vegan / vegetarian items they can order à la carte if they just want one or two items. but seriously, they get the vegan Prix fixes, seriously it was so good.

They took the time and care to set a separate 3-course vegan menu, cheap (for this quality of food) to $50. appetizer: crisp zucchini bao buns, main: coriander-pesto potstickers in a black garlic pepper, and desserts a mango boat. divine!

Great meal, there aren’t many vegan options to choose from but the few choices are really yummy! Also, there are a few appetizers that are not on the vegan menu that are vegan as well such as the ravioli!

I have eaten at Roy’s a few times while in Hawaii. I ate at this specific location on my birthday a few years ago and remember it being a very nice experience. Although, in the last couple years the vegan options have really been expanding in Hawaii, so I’m more likely to try other places over Roy’s. That said, this is a nice option if you’d like to have a fancier meal and want to dress up a little.
