Bidrage med feedbackGot the assorted packs and the Coconut, Green Tea, and Manju were favs. One of the best homemade mochi you can get in Honolulu!
Tiny little Mochi store that was hard to find tucked in what looked like an industrial area. Mochi comes in many flavors and is soft, chewy and a little bit sweet. Everything you want in Mochi. Walked out with a Hawaiian rainbow of onoliciosness.
Hubby, daughter and I came here to get some flavored mochi. It's so fresh and delicious. I'm surprised we haven't been here before but this place was amazingly good. Hubby got 4 of each flavor. We got peanut butter, lychee, lilikoi and melona. All were pretty good although peanut butter and mochi isn't too great of a combo for me. I would rather have peanut butter and chocolate together to be honest but all the other flavors were delicious. They take card and cash. The ladies working here were super nice.Parking is directly up front. I highly recommend coming here for fresh mochi. So good. I definitely will be back for more.
Mochi and chichi dango are part of our Japanese traditional holidays. Nisshodo is the go to place and only one of two Mochi places in Honolulu. They do the traditional paper wrap around their chichi dango, that's a must have. Service is great considering it's a small store and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. Walking into the store it's like you walked thru time and nothing seems to have changed accept they accept credit cards. It looks like a old candy store back in the 60.Sorry no picture we normally eat them before we get home that's how good they are.Our favorites is peanut butter, but they have exotic flavors (lilikoi, melon,Coconut, etc) on top of traditional habutai, daifuku, etc. they also do party trays
BEST MOCHI EVER!!! I'm from SoCal so our mochi store equivalent is Fugetsudo. I personally think that the mochi here is way softer and I love the assortment of tropical flavors! I got liliko'i, melona, coconut, lychee, manju, and daifuku. My favorites were the liliko'i and lychee mochis, I was so impressed with how well they captured both of these flavors in the filling! The mochi texture is so pillowy and soft, I have never had anything quite like it. I didn't get the chichi dango, but I definitely want to try this next time!
