Bidrage med feedbackMy friends and I have eaten several times here, and we love it every time. The Dagon Tea Leaf Salad is delicious, we get it every time. I personally get the Chili Beef or Chili Lamb, but I like sharp (not for all). I recommend this restaurant to anyone I know, friend or enemy alike. Visit this place when you are in Honolulu, your stomach will thank you!
Have visited Dagon with groups several times in the past and have always enjoyed a variety of their dishes. The food this time did not disappoint. Was excellent as always. One thing that seems to routinely be an issue though is the wait time to have your order taken. They have fairly high staff turnover and could use more people. Would give 5 stars every time were it not for the service. Regardless, we'll be back!
One of my favorite place to go. Food is consistent and friendly service. Burmese salad is highly recommended. They make fermented tea leaves in-house. I enjoyed food in Myanmar (Burma) now I continue to have a piece of Burma when in Honolulu. I recommend making reservations in advance even during the weekdays to avoid the disappointment.
This was my first experience with Burmese cuisine, so I wasn't sure how authentic it would be, but everything we tried was delicious. My wife loves Burmese food after her trip to Myanmar, so we had to give it a shot. The flavors are a delightful blend of Indian, Chinese, and Thai influences. We started with the tea leaf salad, which was incredibly refreshing. I ordered the garlic noodles, which were very much inspired by Thai cuisine and absolutely tasty, while my wife had the lamb potato curry served with jasmine rice, showcasing various Indian influences. We also tried the Burmese tofu on the side, which resembled delicious chickpea fries. Overall, the meal was fantastic, and the service was exceptional. We would definitely return when we're in Honolulu again.
We had plenty of time to peruse the menu and decide what to order, but unfortunately, this is where things began to slow down a bit. The waitress did a great job, though she appeared to be the only staff member working that day, which is often the case in many establishments. It wasn't a major issue since we weren't in a hurry, but there were a few minor inconveniences with some items. The food itself was well-cooked, beautifully presented, and delicious, with generous portion sizes. While I'm not an expert on Burmese cuisine, everything tasted authentic, and we're definitely looking forward to returning and recommending Dagon to our friends and family.
