Bidrage med feedbackAs other diners have noted, the lunch menu was not in English, so I chose a dish using Google Translate. I ended up ordering crispy noodles topped with vegetables. It was okay, but lacked depth in flavor.
Located just steps away from North Point MTR station, this restaurant with no English name can be found on the ground floor next to Batata Greens veg store. I hesitate to give it a 2-star rating as a vegetarian restaurant, but unfortunately, my experience with the lunch set was less than satisfactory. The lack of an English menu for the lunch options prompted me to use Google Translate to order set C for HKD46, expecting an aubergine-based dish. However, what arrived was a chewy mock meat dish in a thick ketchup sauce, accompanied by some vegetables and steamed rice. I could only manage to eat half of it. The soup that came with the meal for an additional HKD2 resembled typical Chinese soup but lacked flavor compared to others I have tried. While it's possible that I simply made a poor choice in ordering, I can only review based on what I consumed. The lunch set is reasonably priced, so there may be other menu items that fare better. A noodle dish from the lunch set ordered by another diner appeared more appealing.
The food at this restaurant was greasy and lacked flavor. It was just average, nothing standout, and not very nutritious.
Environment: Simple, family-style, quiet Food: Traditional Cantonese vegetarian food with no five spices. Portion is big and most meat-eating men will find the meals safisfying and taste like a normal carnivorous one. Some food could be on the oily side just like most Chinese places so you can tell the servers you want to take it easy on the oil and sauces. They are open in between lunch and dinner, which is rare in Hong Kong. Menu items with eggs are marked. Their daily soup is delicious, usually comes free with lunch sets or dinner dishes. Service: Geniune, friendly, attentive Price: Low-medium range (no 10% service charge)
Easy going family run restaurant serving Chinese vegetarian versions of classic Chinese comfort food. When ordering you need to let them know if you want egg or not. Vegan options available.
