Like El Atrio, which seems to be partnered with this restaurant, Guateke serves very ordinary Colombian food. So if you like low quality fried meat / fish and French fries, this is the perfect place for you. There are no vegetarian options. Everything comes with French fries - no other option e.g. rice or patacones, although you can have a small side salad too if you ask. My boyfriend and I both had pechuga (flattened chicken breast thing), his in 'Guateke' sauce and mine in mushroom sauce. The chicken was poor quality and sauces very average. The Guateke sauce was kind of citrusy - better than the very bland and overly creamy mushroom sauce with semi-raw mushrooms. Staff were pretty unfriendly and didn't seem to want to be there! On the plus side, the drinks were good - I had a very tasty maracuya juice. And it's fairly cheap if you stick with the meat rather than fish (I think we paid about 15 000 each for the chicken). As I said when reviewing El Atrio, to be fair, you're in a very un-touristy town so they're catering mostly to Colombians - who like this type of food!

We had dinner with a group in this restaurant and they arranged a special table in a special room for us. The meals were served almost at the same time and the quality of the food was good. The service is friendly and they made no problems with paying seperately.

I tried a good trout. the staff is very kind. good choice for lunch or lunch while visiting the beautiful old sector of the city.

The guateke is a very good restaurant in the historical center of funda. In the evenings it also has the option to play as a pub after a good day of adventures and tour of Honda. Its menu is very spacious and beautifully prepared, but cold drinks for that climate are a breath. The service is a bit delayed but there is a choice to try an entry and some drinks.
