Bidrage med feedbackI got into Homer at 6:40am, I had been dying to try this place. The hours listed on Yelp are 6am. I took a $10 cab to get here. They looked closed, but it was 6:58am. (Their signage says they open at 7) So I had the cab driver drop me off, this place definitely looks worth waiting for! I waited outside in the cool damp sure for 30 minutes, no one came to open up. I couldn't wait any longer or I'd miss my flight. So I called another can to leave. Definitely call before you come here, who knows if they'll be open or not. Ended up spending $20 round trip, to not eat here.
If I needed to escape life 's hustles and bustles, this would be the place to go to. I immediately fell in love with the large bay windows and vaulted ceilings adorned with plants and succulents, giving it a chic greenhouse feel. Every detail truly is Pinterest inspiration board worthy. We were introduced to bulletproof coffee for the first time here (see Jin C. 's review). The café artisans were nice enough to split our 16 oz. order into two mugs. They have a pretty solid food menu, but we were told that they will be changing it to provide more to-go friendly options. The cozy, quiet atmosphere kept me around a lot longer than I was expecting. Observing locals come in and excitedly introduce a new birch syrup they just produced, or catch up with one another about their recent hiking adventures, was an experience that made this place feel like home. In other words, this place to rejuvenated my soul. Mmm.
This place is amazing simply for introducing me to their take on bulletproof coffee. -organic drip coffee -organic coconut oil -grass fed butter -honey -cream (optional) Blending all of the above resulted in one of the richest, most satisfyingly coffee drinks I've ever had. According to the baristas, the soluble fat helps our body absorb the caffeine better and helps prevent the jitters. Seems ideal for someone with a caffeine sensitivity such as myself. Not to mention how beautiful the interior of the cafe is. A large number of potted plants helps foster an inviting atmosphere without seeming cluttered or messy. Truly worth checking out for yourself on a rainy morning.
I absolutely love this place! Especially since it 's right next to the gear shed. So convenient, I stopped by the drive thru the other day and wanted something quick, I usually don 't stop anywhere for breakfast but I was running behind and really needed something. The owner was working and she gave me a menu of cooked items and explained the time it would take to cook. Also she informed me next time I could call ahead to order. She realized I might want something a little quicker and offered me a vanilla yogurt creation with lavender granola and lemon zest she had me at lavender granola, it was heaven!! Friendly adorable spot for coffee and sitting down inside with friends too.
Stowaway Cafe does all the menu options to an exceptional delicious degree with the baked good of the day always being a pure delightful treat. You can't go wrong with the amazing food, great kombucha, relaxing vibes, and friendly staff. I would recommend ten out of ten to anyone looking for a treat or something more hearty.
