Homer Spit Oyster

Absolutely LOVE the Broken Oar Oyster Bar in Kachemak Shellfish Growers. We stumbled on this bar on our first day in Homer and got a record of oysters who were some of the best I ever had in my life (and I had oysters all over the world and consider myself real oyster lovers). I would absolutely recommend ordering from them in the future despite the high shipping costs, that is how good they were! We saw all the other good foods past, so we decided to go back the next day and tried the mussels and rockfish ceviche – both great and fresh. Everything looked and smells amazing. The menu is all seafood and limited, but so you know that everything is done well. The inside of the bar is small and cozy and they have a large outdoor deck with an incredible view. The three guys who worked at this place were great and entertained with the guests. I loved the laissez-faire and relaxed surroundings on them – Broken Oar made me fall in love with Homer!

Literally the best oysters I ever had. Such a small key. The staff is super nice and cool. Inside is tiny, so we sat outside and enjoyed the day. We started with half a dozen, but the waiter said we want a full and we got 2 full dozen.

We ate in the restaurant that was great, but a better offer is to buy their raw oysters through the dozen together with a shovel and a lemon!

Heared for some oysters and took some of the ceviche that was on daily specialties. Great oysters and ceviche were in the world; View was also quite brilliant.

Aside from the wait being somewhat long, the food was very tasty! My family and I enjoyed eating the oysters very much.
