Bidrage med feedbackIf I could, I would give this food truck 6 stars! Absolutely the nicest lady and best bbq we have ever eaten. We have traveled many places, and have tried other restaurants here and this was by far the best we have ever eaten. Completely ruined eating bbq anywhere else for us. Judy was the sweetest woman, doing a great job cooking, answering phones and waiting on customers! We will definitely be back there every time we visit alaska.
Smokey, tender, delicious bbq served with a big scoop of friendliness. I eat bbq all over the place I must say that BlackJaxx Bbq served some great bbq. The ribs, brisket pulled pork 3 meat plate was very filling. The beans and slaw were very good I highly recommend eating here when your in Homer.
Let me start off by saying that I’m a native Texan who lives here in Alaska now. Complimenting an Okie on their BBQ just isn’t something I expected to ever do, but here we are. I got the 3-meat plate with Ribs, Brisket, sausage, and then a double side of beans, a roll, and a coke to drink. All of that cost me $24. That’s not expensive for BBQ, especially good BBQ. The first thing I ate were the ribs, and I’m upset about that because they were hands down the best part of the meal. The ribs were cooked to perfection. Fall off the bone. Even the fat was melt in your mouth which I’ve never had happen to me with ribs. Next I had some of the sausage. It was definitely good, but not top 5 of all time for me. I personally prefer some Cajun in my sausage, but don’t let this part deter you from the sausage, because you won’t get anything this good here in Alaska. I ate the roll next, and while I would prefer cornbread, because well, I love cornbread, this dinner roll was great. Next was the brisket. I’d say top 10 brisket I’ve ever had. The smoke on it was fantastic, the flavor was again nothing like you’d ever get here in Alaska. Last was the beans, they were made with either some brisket or pork mixed in, which gave it great smoke flavor, and I’m glad I got double beans because it was well worth it. I WILL be back here many more times, and I do believe that the price for the food is too low. At least what I’m used to down in Texas, this food was well worth the price I paid. Sometime I’ll try the pork, bologna, and the chicken, but I think next time I’ll just get a half rack of ribs.
First time stopping at the Homer location. It was just as good as the other location. It is by the Homer Ice Rink so one of the few spots on the spit with actual parking. They have a few tables outside but was too windy for us. We ended up eating the food at the local brewery and paired perfectly together.
Judy was wonderful!! Brisket was excellent and I love the convenience of the drive up window. Fantastic place!
