Bidrage med feedbackI am traveling through Ireland as a solo female traveler. Stopped here to get some tapas and a glass of wine. When the server (Amy) brought my meal, I took out my phone to take a photo of the food and she rudely asked me if I took a photo of her. I did not and told her so. I didn't think much of it until she came back to my table and accused me again of taking her photo. I felt so upset by her accusation that I just paid for my meal without eating it and quickly left. Did What a rude and disturbing welcome to Cork. if I had taken a photo of her, I would have posted it so all yelpers would know to run if they see her.
The most cozy environment I have ever experienced. Go for a glass of wine, stay for the loving staff. The Tapas Board offers delicious cheese and meats with tasty crackers and amazing bread. If you are trying to find a place for your next date this is it.
The Spanish stew was literally a can of crushed tomatoes with some chickpeas and cold chicken. The spicy meatballs were balls of ground beef with black pepper dust. I could have made a better meal with a few remnants and expired cans of beans in the back of my cupboard after drinking a bottle of whiskey. The only saving grace was the bread they clearly bought at a grocery store. Worst €80 we 've ever spent.
We stopped into The Wine Tavern around 7pm. It was dimly lit with candle light and people were conversing intimately at tables covered with red gingham tablecloths. It was lovely. We however had been traveling all day from America, with two toddlers. Exhausted and hungry, we looked around and the. decided that we should seek out our dinner from somewhere else, not to disturb the other guests. The head waiter convinced us to stay, and told us that he would have the chef customize something for the kids. How could we turn that down?! They offer a limited menu, but with great reason, everything is executed perfectly. We started with a meat and cheese board. All the meats were cured in house and served with three different tempanades and the freshest bread. They made melted Brie on toast for the kids and it was delicious. We finished our meal with the Ballycotton fish pie. It was amazing. I loved it, my kids loved it. The waiter suggested two local stouts that were so tasty, a little hoppier than Guinness and much deserved after our long journey. We ended our meal with a warm brownie and ice cream. I can not tell you how much I enjoyed this place! From the hospitality, to the food, to the atmosphere. Definitely check them out!
5 stars for an amazingly nice team! Had the tapas for two platter after a loooong day which had amazing read and cheese. Nice glass of rose but being exhausted, left me bag at the restaurant. The super nice staff family worked diligently to return it. Can't thank you enough for a full belly and safe backpack :
