Grandma's Goodies Gumbo - Hollister

Today for lunch. great food. great service, although there is only one waitress and cook. Do not usually take left poovers to home, but those were worth it. it's a hole in the wall restaurant that if they flash, they might miss it. in any case they are looking for this place and stop it.

What a great surprise. Service super. Eat excellent. The atmosphere was funny. So good I went to thank the cook. It was grandma that made cooking. I was in town for golf and I was on this gem. Next time, I will only travel for this and maybe go to some golf.

I wish we had tried this place earlier. So I have the catfish, potato salad w/cornbread. Honestly probably the freshest, perfectly cooked fish I've ever had and that says ALOT! The potato salad was also good. Perfect balance of flavors. Doug had the jambalaya (I also tried) and once again amazing flavors! They have to do their own sausage or let them in. The smokey taste was from this world. The rice was perfectly cooked, only mmmm! Next time we will try the rubber bear and probably the Jambalaya again. I can't wait to go back! Oh, they said good Doug.

Prices were good, fun environment, rubber bears might have been a bit over boiled. if I go back, I'll try something else!

O my goodness, the chef's mother's recipe on this dish was Epic on so many level's! This plate was amazing the hospitality of seating us taking care of my family at a closing moment was a perfect ending to our visiting day!
