Bidrage med feedbackOver a year ago, I had learned that the long-time owner of Baja had retired, and that the place was taken over by two of its dedicated patrons. Since then, I had only been to restaurant for drinks, until a recent visit for dinner. The menu had changed, and I no longer saw my old standby of the Alambre Cancun with grilled chicken and shrimp with rice; they now only had the dish with shrimp alone. Because of this, I, instead, opted for the Grilled Chicken Fajitas, another dish I used to order rather often. While I waited for my meal, I enjoyed the same tortilla chips and refreshing salsa of yesteryear. I did not have to wait long, however, as the server quickly brought over the sizzling platter. The chicken was well-marinated and extremely tender. It was served with yellow rice, onions, peppers, guacamole, sour cream, and black beans (also had the option of refried beans). Overall, I thought the dish was excellent and less greasy than it had been in the past. I would have loved more than just 2 thin slices of bell pepper, though; there used to be many more and in thicker slices. While it might not be the same Baja of your memories, it is still excellent and worth a visit.
Not sure why they feel they can charge 25$ for a simple burrito!! extremely unreasonable... this place has suffered for a while and looks likes it will continue to .... We ordered an 2 small apps and 2 margaritas and paid over 80$ , WTF! Nope last time, it sucks it was just starting to turn around but charging these prices is beyond ridiculous...... good luck, food is 5/10 at best so never again!
After we finished our meal, the hostess came out and rudely asked, Did you pay the check? When we said yes, she curtly told us, OK, so you guys have to go. We explained that we were waiting for the rain to die down and that they could clear the table. Despite the restaurant being near closing with no other parties waiting for a table, she proceeded to go to other tables and told patrons they had to leave while they were still eating. The worst part was when she approached a family with two elders and children, telling them in the exact words, You have to get up and get out, and when confronted, she yelled, Get the **** out. This family was so nice and clearly confused by her aggression. To make matters worse, she even grabbed the seat from under the elderly man, causing chaos. Other tables stepped in to defend the family, and all hell broke loose. The owners finally came out but instead of addressing the rude hostess, who was obviously under the influence, they yelled at everyone and told us to leave. Do not waste your money at this trash restaurant! The service is terrible, the staff is unprofessional and rude, and the management is completely inept at handling situations. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place at all costs!
Terrible service and racist staff. The general manager Sherry thinks that she can be rude and racist and get away with it. She got in an argument with us over two missing dishes and accused us of lying in front of the entire restaurant. When we asked her to check the CCTV cameras or even count the number of plates, she asked us to leave and never come back. All this was after waiting for an hour for our order out of which only half the stuff came. I have been to Baja at least 5 times before and never experienced this. Needless to say, never going back.
Visited on a Saturday night (after visiting pier 13 and not liking any of the options there). Restaurant was pretty empty and we were seated immediately. Nicely decorated both inside and out. Waiter was friendly and attentive. Shrimp burrito was good but I never had a burrito where my rice was on the side so that was a little off putting. Also had a mojito which was good!
