Smolt - Hobart

Went to smolt as had heard good reviews,ordered chicken salad,it was very disappointing!!!!It was served with roasted carrot plus a heap of raw carrot ribbons on top..was supposed to come with avocado,I got 2 insignificant pieces in it..the chicken looked fake and had a weird taste.The service was great but the food was not good,will not be going back!!!

I went to Smolt a few weeks ago with my partner and his parents. We had told them ahead of time that I am vegan and they catered so well to my dietary requirements. Delicious food and very nice staff!

Really enjoyed the meal and ambiance at Smolt. The house made bread to start yum. Gin selection great too. Waiting staff lovely too. Highly recommend.

I was looking forward to having dinner here with my husband and 2 kids after reading other reviews. The starters were all tasty. It was extremely disappointing when my husbands steak arrived and the mash with it was cold. He then tried the steak (which was quite rare) which was also cold. There was no option of how you would like your steak. My husband let the waiter know that his meal was cold, who then offered to fix it up. My husband declined to have his meal reheated at a cost of more than $40 for the main. So he opted to not have his main. My salmon was tasty and the side of potatoes were also good. It was a shame that they couldn't get all meals hot especially as the restaurant was not busy. We felt like the waiter then avoided us for the rest of our meal. Although she did advise us we would not be charged for the main that my husband did not eat.I would not return here as the prices of the food did not reflect the quality of food we received.

Went with about 18 people for a work team dinner. Had our own area set up in the courtyard, which was great as there was plenty of room and space. The meal was turkish bread and oil/balsamic vinegar (ok, but nothing special), antipasta dishes, slow roast lamb and chicken, beans, rocket salad, roast potatoes ( great!) and lovely dessert. Huge meal, but nice, although not exceptional. I don't know how much the company paid for this meal.
