I stopped by for a light snack and coffee. The service was quite slow and the decor of the place was very traditional. There were many cards for sale but not much space for customers. The food was okay- I had expected to be asked about my toastie bread preference, but was just given white bread (which was disappointing). The prices were a bit high, so I would have preferred brown bread instead. The coffee, however, was delicious and served in an individual French press.
On our drive from Kinlochbervie to Aberdeenshire, we made a pit stop at this restaurant for lunch. It turned out to be a great choice. The cozy atmosphere and beautiful views overlooking the Bonar Bridge made for a pleasant dining experience. After placing our meal order, I took a stroll to admire the local surroundings. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. They also had craft items available for purchase in the reception area and the toilets were clean and well-maintained. We found parking easily on the main street.
We stopped for lunch on our way and were served a very simple plastic plate of cheese on toast with half a tomato... a cherry tomato! Each of the three of us received half a cherry tomato, which was a unique experience. We were left wondering what happened to the other half. The dish was served on thick slices of white bread, giving off a very 1970s vibe.
