Bidrage med feedbackWe arrived late at 11.50, and the breakfast menu finished at 12.00. We asked if we were too late to order breakfast, and we were happily welcomed to take a seat. Lovely food, great fresh coffee, and a warm welcome. We would definitely visit again.
Called in here for a lunch and it was very nice indeed, lovely clean and tidy hotel, pleasant staff and reasonably priced, will definitely be back when I am in the area again.
5 of us enquired about dinner here during a sailing trip. It was explained to us that were a limited number of tables and we should be there in good time. We did that, and enjoyed some good beers before ordering dinner from the charming and efficient young men on duty. The menu was not extensive but all the party enjoyed the starters and main courses they ordered. The highlight was the delicious large prawns, which some restaurants would have called langoustines. The desserts were fairly standard but the sticky toffee pudding was much praised. The view was good too.
Had a great time during our visit to the West Highlands. Came to the Restaurant for their annual Bonfire Fireworks display, which was free. Home cooked Burgers Hot-dogs were served for the display, then followed by an auction raffle, where the proceeds raised go toward the local primary school. The bar is very cosy, and the family run atmosphere is great. Well worth a visit!
After a days walking on Ardnamurchan, and after having an excellent meal at the Salen Hotel a number of years ago, I was looking forward to having another meal there. The place was quiet (3 tables were in use), the blackboard behind the bar was full of specials which sounded nice, so it was looking good. However, the waitress informed us that it was residents and bookings only, as they were short of food. It seemed odd given the number of specials available, but was clear that they just didn 't want to be bothered with us. She advised us to go to the Loch Shiel hotel, as they 'may ' be able to help us, but she couldn 't be sure. So we took her advice, went to the Loch Shiel hotel who were very happy to serve us with an excellent meal.
