Bidrage med feedbackSituated in the Hilton hotel. Breakfast was good enough cooked goods and cold cuts. Also had a few pastries ands waffle maker. Selection of juices and cereals too. Nothing amazing but good enough. Quite an extensive food menu for the evening. Quite over priced for what you got but again it was nice enough and convenient just to come down stairs from the hotel. At lunch time there were loads of people having business meetings and chatting away about this deal and that thing which was a bit annoying but I guess it does sell itself as a business hotel.
The breakfast is amazing and I would highly recommend however what is hard to fathom is the terrible food served in the evening. It was just so average and the fish was very greasy. I would recommend breakfast and eat elsewhere for dinner.
We ate here for my birthday, although due to the previous reviews nearly didn't. I would like to contest the reviews- the meal we've just eaten was lovely. I had mustard chicken, my fiance had ravioli. Both were perfectly cooked, the chicken was moist, the wine was beautiful, the dessert demolished in moment. Don't pay that much attention to the negativity, we personally loved it. The staff were also great, nothing to moan about.
This is a functional hotel. Everywhere you sit there are people working and meeting and planning. But it is local and we have visited it from time to time because of its location. Sort of in the middle of nowhere but near Costco. An area except for an excellent Chinese there are no restaurants. You would think that this hotel would capitalize on thi fact. So what do you look for in this type of restaurant that is in a hotel. Well a little bit of atmosphere even if relaxing would be good. So I guess the fact that it is downstairs in a poorly lit and not too comfortable seating area should be the first sign. Good service would be another draw. However this is served by the most unprofessional staff I have ever seen. To say there are slow (and sloppy) would be kind they walk at a tortuous pace. And finally the menu and the food. This used to somewhere you could get a reasonable coffee and a great sandwich without breaking the bank. I mean after all you are either working and in a rush or have stopped off en route to somewhere. Well the prices have been hiked. Beyond all comprehension a club sandwich is £14.95. That is more expensive that Harrods, more expensive that the gorgeous Grove Hotel not too far away. I am not mean but if I am going to eat a snack at that price I want all the trimmings that go with it. Great food, atmosphere and service. None of that is on offer. As for the coffee it is a third more expensive that Starbuck and far worse for wear. Obviously Head Office has re designed the setting and menu without the right pitch. This is absolutely the worst value, service and food I have ever eaten. I will never return and I suggest you come with your own packed food if you are staying there.
I had high expectations for this restaurant, thinking it would be elegant and glamorous. However, I was disappointed to find that people were dressed better at the Harvester. The service was slow, with only one young waiter struggling to keep up. The food was average, nothing special. They had run out of Stella beer by 7:30pm on a Friday night, so my boyfriend had to settle for Stella Black which he didn't enjoy. Honestly, I wish we had gone to the Chinese restaurant across the street instead. Considering this restaurant is located in the Hilton Hotel, I believe it should strive for a more sophisticated and upscale atmosphere.
