Altes Dorf - Herten

We were in this beautiful and beautiful restaurant for a family member's birthday and I must say that I am fascinated by both the indoor and the food: The whole decoration makes it cozy and the staff was extremely helpful and nice. You can...pick from various food choices (fish, steak, carving... and also mix and match the secondary dishes (e.g. French pommes/chips, roasted potato chips). If you enjoy food and are willing to pay just one tad more than you are in an excellent place.

With a party of 2 we jumped into dinner. no reservations made, but once inside it is a bigger place than expected. we had beer from the hahn and ordered carved Wiener art and an Argentine steak. my carving came with baked carrots and. a simple salate. very tasty and generous portion. we had a snap (mirabelle) after the head. also the old village dessert ordered. again. this place meets their expectations that they have from a typical German restaurant. good generous portions and delicious until the last bite. a recommendation.

This restaurant is also on our list of the top 10 best inns/restaurants we met in Germany. It is located in Herten's Old Town Village next to the Schloss Hotel Westerholt, where we stayed. The unique decorations alone held us through the excellent...Meal and then some captivating. definitely a place we will see next time again!

What a wonderful place! a beautiful wooden family-run facility. friendly, helpful service and the best steak that you might ask. the surprise menu is one must. I had the 3-course version that meets all the goals; tasty, beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and served...with great weeps (if they go for the wine version.) the only thing was that they don't take any non-German credit cards, they need cash. make sure they take it, as it is worth a visit. I will try to stay there next to the rehearsal of the room and more of the exquisite kitchen.

Der Gasthof "Altes Dorf" gehört in Westerholt zu den Top-Adressen gehobener aber nicht überteuerter Gastronomie. Neben der normalen Karte gibt es in der Regel auch nette Angebote, die in die jeweilige Jahreszeit passen. So wird es nie langweilig.
