Bidrage med feedbackBest fish tacos in all of Sonora. Bean burritos and cochinita tacos are also superb. Also recommend caldo largo (seafood soup), and tacos of: chicharron en salsa verde, barbacoa.
I've been eating at Cacheton for almost 25 years. It is still owned and operated by the same owner (Abraham) and his wife.El Cacheton is a local eatery, right in front of the municipal market. It serves tacos and seafood soup (caldo largo) to be eaten standing up at the salsa bar.Tacos are of: fish, cochinita pibil (pork), barbacoa (beef), seafood (combination of octopus, clams, etc.), chicharron en salsa verde (pork rinds in green tomato sauce), and refried beans. You order as soon as you enter (specify wheat or corn tortilla) and wait by the bar until served, then eat right there. Add salsas and condiments to your tacos yourself from the communal salsa/condiment bowls -- the tartar sauce for the fish tacos is amazing.Pay when you are done (order more tacos before if needed) by walking to the cash register at the back and telling them what you ate and drank (all tacos are same price). If you need to wash your hands, there's a basin behind the Coca Cola fridge. Beware, there is no full bathroom.Overall, this is the greatest value (pesos per sensory burst) in food in the State and maybe all Northwest Mexico. An added bonus, is that it is totally trustworthy in terms of food safety. As I mentioned, I've been eating there for almost 25 years (sometimes several times a week) and have never had any issues.Say hello to Abraham or his wife when you visit.
