Umai Ramen And Rice Bowl - Herndon

This is my favorite ramen spot in the area. The small square footage does brisk business where I have yet to wait more than 5 minutes to sit. I put unai on par with Ichiran in NYC. The ramen is delicious, whether you are sampling the flavorful broth, the perfectly soft boiled egg or your protein of the meal (I thought the pork chashu was fantastic, but also found the veggie curry ramen enjoyable). The appetizers are great, though I suggest sharing them since the ramen

I mean it's alright. (apologies for the bad pictures was already halfway in when I remembered to take pictures) Definitely not my favorite ramen place but could be a lot worse. The Gyudon was surprisingly alright. I think if you're in need of ramen and don't want to drive 30 minutes to Tysons or Fairfax this place is pretty good. The karaage is surprisingly good too. Like not a bad restaurant but can't really give it a 4 or 5 when there are much better options around.

I love going to Umai to have ramen for lunch. One of my favorite places to have ramen in the area. I've had different bowls every visit and I've enjoyed all of them. I'm basically on a mission to try every flavor. Photos are from various visits. Place inside is small, but I've never had an issue with finding a seat. Theres also tables outside if weather permits. Staff is also super awesome. Five stars for Umai.

Tiny ramen and rice bowl restaurant with excellent food. Umai has about three tables inside and maybe 5-6 seats at the bar, and a few more tables outside. I had the Umai Mixed Veggies and it was excellent. They have quite a few vegan options in the menu. The service was great too. Excellent option for lunch, dinner or take out.

Delicious and priced very reasonably. Our flight was delayed so we decided to get out and grab some ramen and boy did we luck out. This restaurant is about 4 miles from the airport in a nice plaza. Food came quickly and everything was honestly delicious. We got chicken karaage, pork buns, and tonkatsu ramen, all of which I would get again. Seating is limited but the weather was so gorgeous so we opted to dine outside. The wait staff was also very kind and very efficient!
