Bidrage med feedbackThe Teestuben restaurant is located in the historic precinct of Hermannsburg, requiring an additional fee to enter the property before reaching the restaurant. The historical mission area is currently undergoing restoration, but is still worth a visit due to its restored whitewashed huts, majestic ghost gums, old photos on display, small gallery, and quality souvenir shop. During our visit, the restaurant was not busy but the service was unusually slow. Fortunately, we were able to enjoy the quiet view from the balcony on a beautiful day. We ordered tea for two (milk came separately), a cake, and a bowl of something. Everything was fine, but we were not impressed by the supposedly 'famous' apple strudel, which seemed overhyped in the marketing description.
We intentionally made a pit stop at the restaurant to enjoy the homemade apple strudel and coffee. However, we were surprised to find out that there was a $15 admission fee. Upon further consideration, we realized that it was a steep price to pay for just strudel, but we did get to enjoy the sights of the historic district (even though I had visited it previously).
I was ready to sit and watch, my friends eat the famous apfelstrudel and was gobsmacked to be offered gf apfel crumbs or a gf jam filled lamington! both wrapped and stored on the top floor separately to regular foods. great outsight and delicious food. many thanks to hermannsburg for what so many regular caffes not and safe for us coeliacs!
Katamaran anga teeräume are located in hermannsburg historical district, so is a bonus for the traveling. expected something special. ordered the famous apfelstrudel and asked why it was famous, the personal did not know! coffee to the compliment of the strings was lukewarm, so I took them back. all they did was microwave to make it hot. not impressed by the food, but loved it, sitting on the deck and looking into the Aussie bush to mean now piping hot coffee.
Closed for summer. Did not know they did that. Bought world famous scones and apple strudel across street at grocery store. They were okay not fabulous. Maybe the ambience of the tea room enhances the taste.
