Bidrage med feedbackOn September 4th we stayed at the Bistro of the Hotel Ostseestrand. I told you. We had no bad experiences there. A day later, after a bike tour of about 30 km through Swinemünde, the Polish border area and the Usedomer Achterland, we want to reward ourselves with a snail meal. Due to the good experience in Bistro, we choose the restaurant of Hotel Ostseestrand, Theo’s. The Theo’s in Upstalsboom – Hotel Ostseestrand is located directly on the water. In front of the restaurant is the outdoor gastronomy along the primitive mile. Because of the threatening rain we go to the restaurant. Guest room We enter a modern furnished guest room: White covered tables, brown chairs with red covers, brown parquet flooring, a white ceiling supported by white columns. In the rear part of the restaurant a staircase leads to an entrance where many guests have taken a seat. We are welcome and have free choice. We choose a table next to the stairs to the emperor. Our table The table is exemplary covered, white fabric napkins, spice massage, candle, but not real, but an electronics, as a pot plant a cactus. We like the ambience, four stars. A young lady rushes to our table. She will serve us in the evening, very friendly, professional and polite. She doesn't miss attention. She will later ask if everything is correct, whether the food has cost us more wishes, in short, she will take care of us without having to act urgently. She learned her job well and earned five stars for the performance shown. The young lady gives us the menu of the Theos and the map of the Bistros, from which we can also choose, and draws attention to the daily offer that we have already noticed before the restaurant on a performer. Since this daily offer has attracted us, the selection from the menu becomes a short process. My wife and I decide to recommend the day: Recommended daily: Lamb back to rosemary, finger tubes with plucked peas and puffed peas puree, followed by marinated garden strawberries with lemon ice cream and liqueur (24,90 €) As a wine tasting we choose a half-liter carafe: Grey burgundy QbA, 2016, Winzerverein The wine is good tempting and has a fruity note. It doesn't take long, and the lady from the service brings us bread and butter. Bread baguette and rye bread with sunflower seeds can be found in the bread basket. The bread is fresh and tastes very well with the southwest French butter from the Poitou Charente. But bread and butter should not be the only greeting from the kitchen. The lady serves us on a small plate the actual greeting from the kitchen. Greetings from the kitchen She informs us what it is about: a brioche with goat cheese, caviar and birschutney with pink pepper. We taste and nod ourselves satisfied: A delicious greeting from the cook, so it can continue! As positively agreed, we are waiting for our main court. And that doesn't wait long. Lammrücken zu Rosmarin Jus, finger tubes with plums and truffled peas pure On our plates there is a half lamb cut in the middle, so that the pink fried interior is created. The lamb back lies on the green pea cleaner, surrounded by plenty of pipes. A yellow and a red minitomate as well as carrots and paprika carving contrast to green puree. Two small mirrors Rosmarinjus frame the door. The lamb back is prefabricated, delicate and pink fried. The rosemary jus refines the meat tastefully, the rosemary tastes, a fine composition. The small peppers are well seasoned and roasted. The vegetable is bite-resistant and tastes good, also the pea puree. However, the truffles were used so sparingly that they do not penetrate tastefully. The court convinces us that the kitchen has provided a very good performance here. Do you think Dessert can stay there? We express our highest satisfaction when the young lady asks the question. Later she takes our dessert. Garden Strawberries with lemon ice cream and liqueur On numerous strawberry halves there is a green pesto, on the edge of the strawberries the lemon ice cream with a shot of liqueur. A grating of white and brown chocolate is placed in the ice. If we taste strawberries with green pesto, we are surprised by the combination of taste. It was a mint pesto, the young lady tells us about the question of my wife. In any case, the strawberries taste excellent in combination with the mint pesto. The strawberries are aromatic and fresh. The kitchen has given the right ambient temperature to the lemon ice cream, which also tastes very good: the plate is cooled. Yeah, the dessert can stay at the main court. A very good performance of the kitchen. We also praise Dessert for our servant when she asks for our satisfaction. We cannot resist your question whether we want something else. My wife chooses another • Espresso (2,10 € and I have a • Useomer Island Aquavit (3 €). The espresso is served by the young lady nicely hot, the Usedomer Island Aquavit on the island Aquavit is ice-cooled. The “teachers” taste good. The question of evaluating food and beverages is easily answered: full five stars. We have nothing to complain about cleanliness in the restaurant and on the table. We didn't use the toilets. Four stars for cleanliness. The price/performance ratio convinced us. The kitchen has shown a very good performance, the young lady from the service could not. The evening cost around €71, which we could pay with credit card. Four and a half stars for the price/performance ratio. We met both the Bistro and the Restaurant Theo’s in the Upstalsboom – Hotel Ostseestrand and were not both disappointed. No wonder, because the dishes in both restaurants are probably from the same kitchen. This kitchen deserves a great praise. We have smeared without regret, the advertising of the restaurant has kept what it promises. Therefore we recommend Theo’s without restriction. If there are no 800 km between the restaurant and our house, we would certainly be regular guests at Theo’s. Smooth five stars for the restaurant as a conclusion.

“Jo, mir san mi'm Radl do...” we could have singed on our bike tour from Heringsdorf via Bansin, Ückeritz, Stubbenfelde, Kölpinsee to Loddin and back. Almost 50 km have come together, in the evening our hunger is correspondingly great. We're sneaking for Deftigem. On the way from the apartment to the beach we regularly pass a hotel complex on the Heringsdorfer Eichenweg. Upstalsboom – Hotel Ostseestrand stands on the signs in the house. The hotel offers food in a restaurant and in a bistro. We decide for the bistro tonight. The hotel with bistro and restaurant is located directly on the water. Both locals have an external gastronomy along the primitive mile. Because it has become somewhat cooler, we prefer the guest room in the bistro of the terrace. We enter – and are surprised: a mixture of coffee house and genre library. Brown and red tones dominate: brown parquet flooring, brown wood carving columns, a large brown bookshelf, brown wooden tables, red wallpaper walls, cozy red-claw armchairs and under the bookcase a contrasting green bench. This is very cozy. After the bike tour, relaxation in the comfortable armchairs is good for us. Four stars for the ambience. When entering the “Culinary Library”, as the hotel calls the Bistro, we are greeted by a friendly middle lady. She serves us in the evening, is very versed, attentive and friendly. You know she's doing her job. When asked, she gives information about the food, asks if we like it and if everything is right. She has the “store” alone and exemplary under control. Four and a half stars for the service. The Service Lady gives us the menus and gives us enough time to choose our dishes. Regional and good-bourgeois dishes are mainly offered. My wife decides from a rich range of carvings that differ in the supplements for the • carving “Dracula”, a carving with frits or salad and with garlic and chili (12.90 €). I decide for the daily offer on a table in front of the bistro: • Currywurst XL with french french fries and salad supplements (8,90 €). As a drink we take a Grauburgunder: • Grauer Burgunder Q.b.A., 2016, from the Winzergenossenschaft Wasenweiler (0.5 l, 13.50 €). The wine comes to the table at a temperature. We wait a little, quite suitable for the preparation time of our dishes, and our service is served by the typical German calorie dispensers. Schnitzel „Dracula“ Two nicely browned carvings lie on the plate of my loved ones, framed by well browned frits, a salad set and a Klecks Chili-Knoblauch-Dip. “Well seasoned,” my wife says when she tries the carvings. The carvings are juicy and delicate in meat, the frits are very well prepared, very nice crispy. In the salad set of cucumbers, tomatoes and leaf salad, my wife also finds currants that give the salad a fruity taste. But my wife misses the “Dracula” in the garlic-chili-dip, a kind of spiced mayonnaise. The bathroom could have worn more “fire”. Currywurst XL with frits and salads A long curry sausage lies on my plate under a stroke curry sauce. The supplements on my plate are the same as the supplements on my wife's plate. I also find currants in the salad leaf, my fries are also excellent tanned and prepared. When the curry sausage is cut, I notice that I have a regional variant on the plate. The sausage is not a classic sausage, but a wine sausage, as it is often won as a curry sausage in Berlin. The Siedewurst is for me not the Knaller, I prefer the classic Bratwurst as a curry sausage. But we are on Usedom and here it is served. Who's asking? The curry sauce should have been sharper for me. But it still tastes, beautiful tomatoes and a little seasoned. The serviceman tells us later that the cook takes into account the average taste. Many people don't like it sharply. This time, my wife evaluates her food better than mine. My curry sausage is pretty okay, my wife values her carving with "good", i.e. three and a half stars for food and drinks. We have nothing to do with cleanliness. The guest room is well maintained and clean, plates, dishes and glasses are without a tadel. Four stars for cleanliness. We pay the price/performance ratio to “good”. We were served more than well, and the dishes have tasted us, so four stars. We recommend the Bistro at the Hotel Ostseestrand. As a result we give four stars.
