Having spent a week in Germany we were setting off back to the ferry but needed a final taste of Germany, and nothing says that better than Shalk in Herford. It offers a range of takeaway food from the classic bratwurst through to snitzels or...even roast chicken. Takeaway or sit in in the small restaurant either way you won't be disappointed. I is an essential part of my German experience.

Schalk on the minener str is possibly the best currywurst/bratwurst house in Germany. further meals include hamburger, roast chicken and, of course, German chips. the service is fast, the prices are reasonable and the wait is always out of the door. You would be a...fool to drive past and not stop.
