Texas Best Smokehouse Travel Center Of Henrietta

Stopped for diesel and a shower at around 0500. Pumps Do not work properly and the employees who you have to hunt for assure you its your fault. After 40 mins of trying to fuel I gave up. Parked and headed in for a shower that looked like this.......

Well... the people were nice. The brisket.... I don't know what to say. Yes it is a gas station but I've had great BBQ at gas stations. This was more pot roast. Now if I had brown gravy and mashed potatoes it would've been great.Food: 2/5

We didn’t get a chance to try the BBQ, because the attitude of one of the employees completely turned us off from staying in this establishment for any period of time. The most rude, disrespectful, and angry man was standing at the counter scowling at my husband, my two children, and I as we were deciding what to order. After approximately 30 seconds of scanning the menu, I began to tell the man what we would like to order. I was very rudely cut off, and angrily told to go to the other end of the counter and tell the other employee. My husband and I walked toward the other end of the counter to place our order. We walked a few feet away to wait to place our order, less than a minute passed by when we heard the same extremely disrespectful employee yelling at another customer, this time at the top of his lungs and in an even more hateful tone. The other customers weren’t rude or instigating any confrontation. They simply walked away after being disrespected in such a way. I didn’t see a name tag, so all I have is the physical description. He was a stocky-built, larger African American man, who acted like he absolutely hated his job/life.If I were the owner of this place, this man would never be an employee of mine. He caused two potential customers (within a 2 minute period) to simply leave, before even trying the food, all because of his hateful attitude. Employees with attitudes like this have no business being in the service industry. He yelled at and disrespected people for absolutely no reason, and it’s experiences like this that will cause people to choose a different store/restaurant to patron. We drove to Dairy Queen instead, where we were treated with respect and common courtesy.

For truckers: do not shower here. Worst shower ever: sharp mildew smell, massive flooding over the entire floor, extreme water temp changes, no soap in the shower stall, broke fan, and you can’t use your pilot shower credits. Will never stop here again, not even for their $42 sliced beef sandwich.

This bbq was really good!!! we have stopped by here a few times in our travels.However, if you can train your employees to be less miserable looking that would be great.We had to ask for our breadThe brisket had way too much fat (half of my serving was fat)And the ribs were cold Things, that if the employees cared about what they were serving, would not happen. I know it sucks having to work, but not the customers fault.Otherwise this is great bbq!!Additionally this store is amazing.There are so many Texas souvenirs you cannot find anywhere else.Love this place.
