Green Hippo Kallio - Helsinki

The nest lunch spot in Kallio. Helathy, fresh and yummy at the same time Green Hippo is so good and I can highly recommend

Hippo is an excellent pick for lunch and for a light healthy dinner or afternoon coffee or breakfast. It has everything. However, if you are after a nightout, this is not your pick. They do serve alcohol though. Trendy? absolutely, nice decoration and especially nice terrace. During a hot days of June August in Kallio it really feels like you would be in some of the sunny parts of Europe since there is no wind in this part of Kallio. It is in the fancier part of Kallio so don’t look after Berlin vibes here. It is my top pick to meet friends. However the food, being healthy, could need some development for instance the chicken meal has nice peanutty flavour but there was way too much ginger in it.

This is our go to place when we want a tasty breakfast or affordable but tasty lunches. The banana pancakes are to die for!

Very good food and big portions with affordable prices. The staff is helpful and friendly too. A big recommendation!
