Bidrage med feedbackMy wife and I had lunch here, food was really nice and the service was excellent. Will definitely return! So if you are looking for a Chinese restaurant in Helsinki, definitely come here!!
Looked nice from outside BUT........... Ir was a Buffett when we were there about 7 in the evening so not late, but many of the starter dishes were nearly finished and not replenished! Moved on to the hot main course dishes, in a Buffett I usually have a plan, take a little bit of everything to discover what I like and don’t like, then go back and have a portion of the things I like. So I’m my first sampling session everything except the boiled rice was tepid or cold. I complained so the lady behind the counter she went round feeling all the dishes then went into the kitchen and out came the “chef” who felt all the dishes had a word with the counter lady, dived under the serving area and clearly turned the heat up then went back to the kitchen the “lady” returned to the counter and between them not one word was spoken to me! No apology I was just ignored I understand that these things happen but to be treated as if I had done something wrong really upset me. Anyway the real worry was that the chicken dishes that were nearly cold were now being reheated! AVIOD!
There's always a risk when you change a working concept. They used to have a versatile and very delicious lunch buffet, and the place was quite often full of Chinese tourists. After a bit longer while, I went there again in lunch time, and the place was plain empty! Soup, salad and spring rolls were still there in the buffet, and then you could order from three alternatives at the counter. I had chicken in lemon sauce which was not bad I must say, but I really missed the previous buffet with so many choices. A group of other customers came after a while, but after discovering the changed concept, they also got disappointed, and they left. This used to be my No. 1 Chinese restaurant in Helsinki, but sad to say, I have to lower my rating to a very average level.
This is the oldest chinese restaurant in Helsinki since 1973. But not the best. They have done some renovation recently. Nice, little bit better than before. They have a new menu and new decor. Portions are smaller and prices are higher. They have also a new lunch concept.
China is the oldest Chinese restaurant in Helsinki. It is visited by many Chinese groups which is a good sign, I pressume. The food is nice and you even get dim sum here. I would call the cuisine mostly Cantonese even thought you do get some Sichuan dishes as well.
