Bidrage med feedbackI ate my first meal in Helsinki at KuuKuu and it was terrific. I had the Potato bread with reindeer OMG, it was awesome, as a starter and the Organic Meatballs with mashed potatoes as a main and wow..! Both dishes were super tasty the reindeer was AWESOME..!!! The interior is very nice and modern and the wait staff was super friendly. Yes they speak English. Kuu Kuu is a must eat in my opinion for those wanting a high quality meal at a fair price. I did not think the prices were out of this world.
Not inexpensive but wonderful food. Elegant but still warm and comfortable. The strawberry and goat cheese salad was a taste explosion. The tenderloin was tender and was sauced perfectly The gnocchi was creamy with a lovely umami mushroom sauce. Bread the best. We bought a loaf to go. Had the special spritzer of the day. Elderberry. Delightful. Make time to enjoy this very Finnish meal.
Had a fantastic dinner here, from the artichoke soup starter to the meatballs and the baked alaska for dessert. Felt that the prices were great for the amount of food and quality we had. The restaurant seemed to be very local which was a perfect environment.
This place was close to where I was staying and was recommended so I decided to go for dinner and it was great! I ordered a drink and ordered the Reindeer on Potato bread and meatballs. They also offer their house bread which was ok. It was my first time having reindeer and I was not disappointed. The meatballs were delicious and the mashed potatoes were as well and it was very filling. I then ordered the chocolate ganache with peppermint ice cream for dessert which was rich but very very good. It's a little pricy but worth the money and the service was very friendly and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to try some good Finnish Cuisine!
Kuukuu was right down the street from the hotel I was staying so came here with my sister and brother in law. It was a nice night out so we decided to eat alfresco! It's a fairly quiet street so sitting outside doesn't give you much to look at but it was nice either way. The service on the patio was still quick (servers tend to forget alfresco diners, IMO . I got a Karhu beer (what I could gather from the all Finnish label and taste, it was an ale of some sort and the Finnish meatballs. The meatballs are hearty, filling and tender. Might give the slightly better known Swedish meatballs a run for their money. The main dish was under 20 euros which, for Helsinki, wasn't too bad. I'd absolutely come back again next time I'm in town. Big ups to the guy who was our server- we dined with a rather rambunctious 1 year old but he was super nice about it : Thumbs up!
