Banchero's Italian Dinners - Hayward

Sadly, closed. I really wanted my children to eat here the way me and my parents grew up eating here. *Tears* This was THE BEST place! So many wonderful family memories with such great food at great prices! Restaurants like this just don't exist anymore- family owned with history and classic, easy atmosphere. The take-out counter was always busy, just like the dining room. Proof that they fed most of the East Bay. We miss the meatballs, the garlic bread, the generous bartenders, John....We miss Banchero's!

This was a great family style restaurant with good food and ambiance. So sad they closed it. They don't have restaurants like this anymore.

My Uncle ate there during war years my husband in the 60's and then me in 90's and took my son in 2007. Loved the place and will miss it in my future visits. Wish someonewould reopen it and save as a landmark. Connie from Colorado

I really miss Bancheros, What a wonderful place and so many memories of a life time there. I wish it would reopen. So sad that they closed right before our anniversary dinner we had there every year since 1986. We went every year for our anniversary, birthday and just because.

Local landmark. Local icon. Best restaurant in area. John jr's decision to close was Upsetting to thousands of loyal patrons. Reopening again will give patrons their culinary lives back. Hopefully they can make that happen . John did say that he thought his customers were slave drivers cause they made him work so hard. hahahahaha
