Kastel Bar Restaurant - Haverstraw

The facility was clean, modern and the staff was friendly and attentive. the food was great and the prices were also average. I will recommend the restaurant to others for dinner and group functions.

The place was perfect! Super friendly staff was warm and inviting. Cozy bar/restaurant that makes you want to linger. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and the portions were large. Super clean from the glass wear to the bar. Food was obviously fresh. A true 5 Christina, our bartender was so attentive and a gracious conversationalist and the owner, Rene, was engaging and down to earth. We'll definitely be back!!!!

The staff and owners are very friendly and eager to please. I had the strip steak w/garlic butter for $22. The Belgian fries were the right crispness and temperature and not too salty. While their desserts weren't French, I loved the key lime pie. I am very excited to see a local place serve weekend brunch. What a wonderful addition to the Downtown Haverstraw culinary arts scene.

I am very picky so this is a legit review. I have been there several times and highly recommend it. The bar food is great , the tapas are not really little plates you do get a nice serving. The drinks are very good with so much variety. I’ve tried both the white and red sangrias and I was blown away. They do have nice drink combinations as well as a nice selection of wine and I hear the wine list is growing even more ! Now for the dinner ... I’ve tried the steak and the rotisserie chicken , both were great. The chef is awesome, he even came out and spoke with us so I got to practice my French. There is this special sauce they have that is great on everything ... their sweet potato fries are very good. As for brunch .... I went with a group of 5 and sampled from everyone’s plate ... the burger was absolutely amazing. I don’t usually care for hamburgers in general but there was something about it that was so awesome. There was a cheddar cheese sauce that paired well with the burger. The omelette was on point. The shrimp and grits were excellent. The French toast was good ... I ordered it without fruit but normally it comes with fresh fruit of the day. i obviously recommend this place. A nice place to just unwind. Kastel offers a combination of a romantic feel, causal hang out, and upbeat getaway/ escape from daily stress and worries. The staff make you feel like you are home !!!
