Update Feb 2019 Still there and still one of the best. But get there early. Looks like there's another one opened up a few doors away, but it was closed today. Reasonable choice of pre cooked food. Two servings on rice was 40 baht and tasted fine. When I went back at 2pm it was pretty much all gone so the owner produced a translated list of options (her English is very limited) I was previously unaware of. Went for the fried rice which was ok, but a bit bland. It cost 50 baht which seems standard for Hat Yai. Good to get to know the length of this street as a large number of the veg places are within a block of it. Updated from previous review on 2018-03-19

Out of the precooked food restaurants I've been to in Thailand, I'd say this is the best I've been to so far. Really tasty food and wonderful lady running the place with a big heart towards all animals. They also have a menu for ordering food, but not in English. I don't think they use any egg or dairy products actually!
From the pre-cooked restaurants where I was in Thailand, I would say that is the best I have done so far.
