Here are some honest pros and cons for the place. Pros: Interesting old school layout. Letsyou use a variety of clubs off the tee for position. Friendly staff. Good folks in the pro shop. Relatively inexpensive. The summer/winter green idea gives you variety during different seasons. Cons: The greens. While they look good, they are astrange combination of hard yet slow. I had several well struck short irons/wedges that would hit next to a front pin butbounced to the back. Then they putted very, very slow. Reminded me of LB Houston before it became Luna Vista. At this point, asit was with LB Houston, the best course of action is to rip them up, re contour, resurface, and reseed. It's flat. Very flat. There's not much that can be done about that, obviously, but don't expect any elevation changes. Teebox position. Most courseswill have their teeboxes lined up with the middle of the fairways. There are several on this course that are centered right on atreeline. Cartpaths. Very bumpy gravel cartpaths! It's an enjoyable course. Just needs some tweaks and TLC.
Enjoyed the course. I played it after a few rainy days which added another challenge which i enjoyed. The staff was friendly. Tho the grill was....more to be desired. As for the course i gave it 4 stars as it was decent for the price. There were acouple fairways that were 90% dirt. (Apparently their irrigation system went out during the 100° stretch we had and the grassburnt. And a couple fairways were bumpier then 35 during construction. The greens and few fairways that were ready weredecently kept. I think they need a couple more pieces of equipment to help mow better lines along the fairways. But overall ienjoyed my round and plan to continue to return. Also looking forward to once they get all the fairways back up topar. Strongly suggest
The greens aren't so good, but the rest of the course is great!
This is not a bad course if you are a little cost conscious. The greens are in pretty good shape and actually fairly difficult because of some elevation changes. The fairways are in really poor shape but if I had to choose between nice greens or nicefairways, I would choose nice greens. Overall, I 'm happy with the course because if the twilight discounts you can get. I thinkit was 20 dollars for a round of 18 and a cart. You 'll pay almost that at some driving range for a large bucket of balls. Ithink this course deserves more than a 3 star rating but not quite a four. If they were able to water more on the fairways, itwould be a whole lot better. But, the staff was pretty good and it seemed like they had a bunch of people in the clubhousehaving a good time and hanging out. It had a very Cheers type of atmosphere which made it a little more appealing. Ifyou 're looking for immaculate conditions then you 're gonna have to pay more for a better maintained course, but if you justenjoy hitting some balls in a good environment, for a fair price then this is it.
Had a blast enjoy the course not bad for the price
