Miners And Stockmen's - Hartville

I can't say enough about this marvelous restaurant. The steakhouse salad with house dressing was to die for, and the steaks were perfection (we LOVED the Bleu cheese crust). A great bottle of Merlo and a shared Creme Brule topped off a perfect 50th anniversary dinner.

We had a ton of fun at dinner over Labor Day after a visit to Kindness Ranch to see all the rescue animals This is a must do combo for a visit to Hartville. Dinner was excellent, steak was perfect, drinks were excellent and desert delicious. Limited menu, yes, but go with the flow and enjoy the ambiance.

We were vacationing in the Black Hill for 2 weeks and decided to extend a couple days with my sister brother in law. We stayed in Guernsey and was told by family members to be sure and take the drive to Hartville and eat/cocktails at the oldest bar/steakhouse in Wyoming. We looked at the Website for hours of operation (open 5:00), so Saturday July 27th we drove to Hartville and walked in at 5:00. Upon arrival, we were greeted with name on the reservation please ......... Um, we don 't have reservations. You need reservations and we posted on Facebook that we are full tonight. Our response was we are on vacation try not to do Social Media (some don 't have FB), we looked at your website and it said nothing about reservations being mandatory. We asked if we could eat at the bar, NO was the response. Imagine our shock, that they wouldn 't even work with us make note, we were the only people there. No one else had even arrived. I guess the only good from our experience was we saved a ton of but have no review on the Food. Moral of the story, be on FB during vacation and darn sure make a reservation because they won 't give an inch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best steak we have ever had and we have eaten a lot of steak out. Our waiter was also great. Very attentive but not overly. A wonderful meal.
