Big Horn Steak House Harstad

We had a really good evening a this place, it seamed a bit of an odd but they do know their beef, highly recommended by us meat lovers.

Kind and fast service, food was good and portions just right size. Not too big and not too small. Peppersteak was hot as it should and side veggies and salad had delicious citrusoil on them that made dish fresh. From here we drived straight back to Finland with full stomach.

First i have to sat that the place i welcoming and Nice, and all but one of the staffmembers where really forthcoming and understanding. We waited minimum 2 hours for the food, its worth mentioning that they where shortstaffed and overbooked. After minimum 2 hours without Getting served i went and talked with the staff, they apologized for the long wait and explained that they where shortstaffed. The service was up to that point great, i asked if they would have accepted to pay full price for a service that took way to long, and offered compensation in the form of whine, which i denied since i didnt want anymore to drink. I feel that my behaviour was respectfull and on point when i explained that we enjoyed our time there and wanted to stay. The only thing we wanted was a off the prive of the meal becouse of the long wait. I Was the. Asked by a waitress to calm down and go sit down. This i feel was s horrible way to treat a customer. And becouse of that i left without Getting served. There are PLENTY of good dining spots in Harstad, and i urge you to rather go eat somewhere else than be insulted by an extremely rude and non serviceminded staff. And its expensive!

It was a Sunday night and most restaurants in Harstad were closed. Food in the hotel looked not appetising at all so we headed out to Big Horn. We were fairly early so it was very quiet. The Restuarant is well decorated in what appears to be an old home! Nice. They have a different ordering system where you place your order on a slip of paper tick the boxes and numbers from the menu in essence). Novel and certainly works. My wife had a hamburger which was really awesome. My steak was not the best I have had but tasty. While not a wow factor a pleasant evening and we enjoyed out meals.

Just to make this Clear, I'm not much in favour of restaurant chains. But due to poor planning we did not have much Choice this evening. We all ordered steak as it is their speciality. The condiments were of average quality and so was the gravy, but the steak was good quality and prepared exactly as i ordered it. All in all a decent experience.
