Harsens Island Schoolhouse Grille

Interesting place in the middle of the island. Old school house, good food.

We went to the school house Grill for a birthday party. The owners bought this old primary school and converted it to a restaurant. When we arrived, we first met one of the owners and she explained the history of the school. The dining rooms are designed to keep some of this story alive. Although we ate food, it was good before our arrival. The staff was very friendly and we had a very nice time. It is definitely a restaurant to visit again.

Great food and friendly service. Excellent super green and brocolli salad is great. The best barbecue we had for years and was consistent over several visits in the weeks.

This place was recommended during the camping at Algonac SP. Our whole family loved it! The fish tacos were delish, the strawberrymule is amazing and our server was great!

Everything was perfect. Try the chowder, best around. Will be back as often as possible.
