Heard about this new place that had opened up. Great looking from outside. Nice and bright. Gets your attention. 6 of us visited. Nice lively buzz. Nice modern decor. Ordered starters and mains. Both came in good time. Prices are fair They had a big group visiting which always requires a bit attention. Even then we felt the good family vibe Will be going again.
Recently went there for a meal with my friends and I was really happy with the food and costumer service. Great variety of dishes on a reasonable price. Definitely worth a try if you like Indian Cuisine.
Turbans street is a new restaurant recently opened in Harrow Weald. It used to be called the New Harrow Tandoori. The place has been transformed into a hip and modern eaterie. The modern decor and and the new menu are great for this modern place. Well enough about the place which looks great let’s move onto the food and service we received on our visit. We entered the restaurant and we waited for some time to be acknowledged, no front of house to meet or any eye contact from staff members. We waited around 3-4 minutes before someone acknowledged us and took us to a table. Yes the restaurant was busy for. Saturday at 7 pm but you should be prepared to be busy on a Saturday! We were advised that their ordering system was down so everything was been taken manually. Not a problem these things happen. It took a while for us to place an order for drinks and food as the staff all seemed to be busy in a hap hazard fashion. We noticed that nearby tables were becoming agitated as they had been waiting for food or drinks for some time. The table next to us ended up going to the bar to prod the staff along! Our food took around 45 minutes to arrive luckily we had ordered everything together. So staters we ordered were very disappointing. The pakodas was so bland no seasoning, it seemed they had chopped half an onion and fried the whole thing in batter. We ordered the samosa chaat something you can’t really get wrong. What were were presented with was a whole samosa is such spicy yogurt you couldn’t feel your tongue. Moving onto our main dishes, I can say that these were excellent!! We had a jeera chicken, Saag Chana Masala. Along with chicken wings. The dishes were really well made, well seasoned with a medium heat, extremely tasty. Well done to the chef for getting these spot on! In terms of service this unfortunately for a new restaurant was poor. When we paid the bill the staff member was disinterested. Being a brand new restaurant you would expect to be asked how the food was. On leaving the restaurant again no one acknowledged we were leaving. Again poor front of house service, surely for a new restaurant you should ensure your diners have had a good experience hopefully they will return bring others with them. No doubt all of this is a new experience for them. Turban Street I hope you will be a success in the long run. The area so needs restaurants like yours! Best of luck.
A well executed revamp of the old harrow tandoori restaurant. Inviting interior with freshly cooked, if a little slow dishes. A varied menu with some good starters particularly the paneer tikka sizzler and crispy Bhindi. The new additions to the menu bring this place into the 21st century and offers something refreshing for an otherwise dreary parade. Worth a return visit.
