Bidrage med feedbackThis is really the best Indian and bengali restaurant in london! I don't exaggerate. must try- lamb kosha fish paturi (drug fish wrapped in banana leaves) aloo posto fishcuts the location is however a very regrettable disadvantage for this brilliant fund. if they had been resident at a central location like covent garden or tooting, they could not have controlled the amount. I would like to visit again and again, but the distance becomes a barrier.
One of the few Indian restaurants in london, serving Eastern Indian bengali cuisine (not bangladeshi). the menu has some colkata specificities such as cool bun dry, fertilizer with aloor dom, fish fry etc. the prices are reasonable and the taste is also good. Improvement area: 1. the chairs and table could have been cleaner. 2. Chicken should have been a bit dry.
A bangali (eng. bengali) from calcutta living in London/Europe has only one daabi (eng. demand) good, ghoroa (eng. homely) bangali eating. pritha (the owner of posto) has done a wonderful work to preserve the authenticity of our culture over their dishes. you will find aloo posto maacher kalia to mutton kosha of course the amazing fish fry with kasundi. I was literally cooked to my mother’s home cholar dal (a kind of lenses). if they stay in london, this should be their favorite place to eat when they visit here, they do not miss the dinner adda here.
Absolutely delicious authentic Bengali cuisine! As someone from Bengal, I found the flavors to be reminiscent of Kolkata. While there are a few dishes that could use some improvement, overall, it surpasses any typical Indian or Bengali restaurant. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience genuine Indian food from the Bengal region.
Absolutely fantastic! The food is incredibly authentic, straight from Calcutta. The mustard fish, nalli, and mutton biryani are simply outstanding. The service is friendly and the staff is attentive, with portion sizes that are just right and dishes priced reasonably. Overall, it offers great value. Even though we made a reservation for a Mother's Day lunch, the restaurant wasn’t very crowded. It’s truly a hidden gem. I would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys authentic regional Indian cuisine.
